OLD FRIENDS - Against the Plagues

On September 11, 2018 , 3 of the original members of the international metal act known as Against the Plagues (Adrian Adamus, Varyen Chylinski, and Orlando Logan Perez Olivero) met together in Chicago, Illinois as friends. While they have seen each other individually throughout the decade, this day was the first time in 11 years that the three have been all together in the same room. Our paths went different directions, but on this day our paths converged.

Together we shared laughs,  memories, and began reminiscing on our 2007 tour across parts of the U.S.

Adrian is co-founders of one of the earliest, American Black Metal acts, Forest of Impaled (1991) . Varyen, also a pioneer of Polish Death Metal started his music career with cult, polish legends, Damnation, which had members that later formed the Extreme super-power known as Behemoth.  Adrian and Varyen enlisted the talents of Wojtek Lisicki of Luceferion/ Lost Horizon along with myself to form a tumultuous force of nature that was named: Against the Plagues.

Against the Plagues signed a distribution deal with both Century Media in the U.S. and Plastic Head in the UK.  They embarked on several small tours and in the past, few years, Against the Plagues played alongside the greats : Cannibal Corpse, Nile, and others.

While time has passed, it sure felt like old times. To this day I still feel honored to have walked and performed alongside these legends of underground metal. And while it has been years, they will always be..... my brothers. Amid the turmoil and trials, our bond is still strong.

Who knows what the future may hold for us.  But what matters most is kinship.
